Payment Method
MemberPress.com supports three of the biggest payment gateways: PayPal, Authorize.net, and Stripe.
To update the payment method for a MemberPress subscription, the process depends on how the subscription was signed up for.
If the subscription was signed up through Stripe (the credit card form that is displayed on the checkout page), then the payment method can be updated by going to the Subscriptions tab on the Account page. Next to the subscription that needs a payment method change, click the “Update” link. Fill out the form and click the Submit button.
If the subscription was paid with PayPal, log in to the PayPal account then click on the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner. Under the “Payments” tab click the “Manage Automatic Payments” button. Then find the MemberPress subscription on the left and select it. Over on the right by the payment method there is a little edit icon, click on that to update the payment method.
To switch between PayPal and Stripe, contact the billing department at billing@memberpress.com. They will cancel the current subscription and give a coupon that will let you sign up again so that you can change your payment method.
That's all about the payment methods on MemberPress.com. If there's anything else needed, feel free to ask. Happy to help!

How To Open A Memberpress Account?
To open an account on MemberPress.com, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Dashboard > MemberPress.
- Encounter the MemberPress Onboarding Wizard. This wizard will guide through some basic settings and show how to protect the first piece of content.
- Click on the "Get Started" button to start the wizard.
- The MemberPress plugin requires activation to function properly. So, the first step of the wizard is activating the license. Click on the "Activate" button. This will take to the next page prompting to log into the MemberPress account. Fill in the MemberPress account credentials and continue with the login. MemberPress will automatically check for the license and activate the plugin on the site. Click Continue to progress to the next step.
- In the second step, activate additional features of MemberPress. Additional features of MemberPress are called Add-ons. Each add-on is a separate plugin that will be installed on the site. To enable any feature (add-on), simply click the check box next to it. You can enable the features needed now, or at a later date. Once the wizard is finished, check the full list of available add-ons at Dashboard> MemberPress > Add-ons. Here, enable all add-ons available for the MemberPress plan anytime. Also, disable addons on this page, including the ones enabled in this wizard step. Click the “Continue” button to move to step 3. MemberPress will automatically install and activate all the add-ons selected.
- The third step, together with the fourth and fifth steps, will cover the basics of protecting the content. The wizard will show how to protect one piece of the content (e.g. a page). Now that the content to protect is selected, create the first membership: Click the “Create Membership” button to open a popup. Here, add the basic data required to create a membership, starting with the Membership Name. This name will be visible on the backend, but also to the users on the frontend.
Remember, the account page info is hard-wired into the page, so if a blank page is seen in the editor, this is expected behavior. However, if anything needs to be added above or below the page, use the following shortcode on the page: [mepr-account-form]. As for editing the actual form itself, custom CSS will be needed, which is not a service offered by customer support. If not proficient enough to use custom CSS for visual edits effectively, suggest using a plugin (they may have additional fees for Pro features). Keep in mind that if hoping to use a custom page builder to customize this page, the above-mentioned shortcode will have to be used in one of the content blocks for it to display where needed. Finally, if interested in adding more than the default tabs to the account page, custom development will be needed. The MemberPress Account page will, by default, have the following tabs: Home, Subscriptions, Transactions, Logout. On the Home tab, users will be able to see AND edit all of the information that they entered during the registration process. To edit any of the fields, users will simply need to click the entry box, make any edits, and then click the “Save” button at the bottom of the page.
That's it! Now the account is ready to be used on MemberPress.com. Enjoy the features and benefits of the platform. If there's anything else needed, feel free to ask. Happy to help!
